Our next one-day workshop with Gabriella Maselli and Toni Higginbotham is coming up in a couple of weeks. Gabriella has landed more commercials than any other actor we know and Toni has cast more than any other casting director in Australia! If you want to know how to get more work in commercials, this is the workshop for you!
DATES: Saturday 30th August 2014
TIME: 10.00am to 5.00pm
COST: $330 incl gst – EFT payments (details emailed upon enrolment).
This course is a must for actors wanting to nail a commercial casting.
Students will examine how the advertising industry works, in relation to casting actors, who makes the decisions and what research and preparation you can do beforehand to maximise your chance of success.
You will be shown how to analyse a TVC script, prepare for the role, explore different ways of playing the scene, the environment, and refine your camera technique and studio work. By watching auditions back, you will become aware of any unwanted mannerisms; learn to control your facials and body language, appropriate vocal energy and internal thought processes.
“This is a must do workshop for anyone looking to work in the industry! I’m only just starting my career but after completing this workshop I feel like I have so much more knowledge of how tvc castings work, what it takes to get the job you want and it’s all thanks to Toni and Gabi. As soon as you walk in they make you feel like you are at home and nurture you to be the best you can be! I walked out of the workshop feeling on top of the world and I know it’s just the beginning and it’s all thanks to these two amazing ladies! So Thankyou both!” – Ally Hill
“An honest and revealing look at the casting process that was focused on approaching material always with ‘truth’ being the basis of your choices.” – Richard Brancatsiano
Toni is one of Australia’s leading Casting Directors.
Toni personally cast Cate Blanchett in her first drama series Heartland, Simon Baker in E street, and Geoffrey Rush and Sam Neil in Frontier.
She got Megan Gale her first on-screen performance.
And because she is dedicated to doing great work a lot of the world’s leading directors come to her for their castings.
They know they’ll get the best.
Because she has great eye for talent.
And it’s this quality that puts her in a unique position to offer support and guidance to both aspiring and established actors.
Gabriella has been teaching actors for over 15 years.
She studied at VCA and UCLA in America and gained a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Performing Arts.
Gabriella’s acting career is wide and varied.
She’s acted in most of Australia’s long-running dramas: Packed to the Rafters, East West 101, McLeod’s Daughters, and Home and Away.
Not forgetting to mention Days of our Lives in USA.
Her film career includes the multi-awarded films, Lantana and La Spagnola.
Then there’s the commercials: Too many to mention.
So you could say Gabriella knows a little bit about acting.
