A day with Los Angeles Talent Scout, Jason Siner.

Learn how (or whether) to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles and the preparation and strategies that give you the best chance of success.

Jason has over 20 years of experience in Los Angeles, first as an actor and in casting, then as a talent development specialist and Talent Scout for top tier managers and agents.

Close to 80% of the actors Jason has discovered and developed have booked series regulars or leads in a major film. Many of these actors had no major credits prior to that. Scores more Australian and New Zealand actors have gotten solid representation and booked work in the US, Canada, Vancouver, New Zealand, and Australia by using Jason’s strategies for success.

This is not a fluke. This is a result of actors having great talent combined with great guidance. There is no reason why an actor has to “do their time” to “earn” their success. If you have talent, you can succeed NOW, but only if you don’t get in your own way. Learn what you need to know before you put yourself out there! Too many Aussie actors are getting bad advice and being set up to fail in Los Angeles.

This is not a sales pitch! No books, no videos, no classes. This is simply the seminar to go to find out how to get ahead in your acting career, right now, wherever you are pursuing it!

Give yourself the power to make good decisions about your career by arming yourself with the knowledge and experience of someone who has been there and knows the inner workings of the Hollywood system.

This full day event will cover all this and more:

  • Introduction to the real “Hollywood” – The tourist destination versus the reality called Los Angeles. Don’t attempt the transition without knowing how Hollywood really works!

  • Learn the professional marketing techniques to succeed in the US or wherever you pursue acting. A talented actor marketing themselves correctly can succeed anywhere where there is work. How getting your acting reel up to LA standards will mean the difference between becoming a star and never getting seen for a single role. How to get it all ready without breaking the bank.

  • When, and if, to make the jump to Los Angeles – Get yourself L.A.-ready or it will just be an expensive holiday. Visa options and the many scams to avoid. Understanding and using the B-1, J-1, O-1, and Diversity program to the best advantage. Understanding AFTRA-SAG and how to become eligible.

  • How to prepare for survival in Los Angeles, mentally and financially. Be prepared for the long haul. Just showing up for a couple months of pilot season is not giving yourself any real  chance for success.

  • How to get a US agent and manager and when to have which one or both. Why starting with a top management company can most often mean the end of your US career. How to open doors in the most unfriendly place for actors. It is quite possible to be a great actor and never land a meeting with even a mediocre agent by simply getting lost in the crowd.

  • Making your way and building your credits in Vancouver. A great alternative that too few take advantage of! Other options to building your career and when to call it quits.

  • Q&A – The questions on your mind answered on the level.

Space is limited. Event begins promptly at 9:00 am. Past events have sold out, so buy tickets early to guarantee a seat!

Testimonials:

It’s hard to describe what Jason did for me, because when you are chasing a dream, you hope of meeting people who can sincerely guide you towards them. Jason was one of the few I met. His honest approach, professional advice, enthusiasm for helping and eye for talent has been of immense aid to my decisions and planning of my acting. He never had fake or misleading words, rather, he always encouraged the escalation of my career with personalized solutions and options. I have recommended Jason to many colleagues and I shall continue to do so. I wish him all the success he deserves.

Jason has a keen eye for talent and unparalleled knack for finding up-and-coming young stars, several of which I have signed on as clients. It is because of Jason’s expertise and resourcefulness that I turned to him when I decided to tap into the wealth of acting talent in Australia. I’m very confident Jason will continue to discover actors with star-potential and help them make the transition into the Hollywood system.

– Ken Jacobson – manager – Ken Jacobson Management, Los Angeles

I was introduced to Jason through a fellow actor. If it had not been for Jason’s dedication to helping actors achieve their goals I would not have been signed by a top LA manager and agent. Jason opened a door for me, which led to me being signed by Ken Jacobson Management and Bonnie Liedtke – William Morris Endeavor. A goal I had which other people said was not achievable for me at this stage in my career. He further introduced me to an agency who are now assisting me in getting my 01 visa. In an industry where people are about take and not give, Jason is into help in a BIG way. Jason is a very honest guy with a vast amount of knowledge and experience which he is willing to share with young actors and actresses – this is a rarity in this industry. I owe you big time, Jason and you will be mentioned in my Oscar speech!”

– Freya Tingley – actress – Perth

*Update: Freya booked a series regular on the new show, Hemlock Grove and has since gone on to play Wendy Darling in the hit show Once Upon a Time.

“I cannot speak highly enough of Jason Siner, who from our first communication has been professional, a great communicator, and helpful above and beyond. Within 24 hours of Jason receiving my daughter’s demo-reel he was in touch offering to introduce us to a manger in LA. From that moment my daughter said yes Jason had assisted us in the process of acquiring a wonderful manger and top agent and also providing further guidance in how to attain a an 01 visa. Nothing was too much trouble and his fast response time was greatly appreciated. He handled all our many question with patience, ease and an ever cheerful manner. I would highly recommend Jason, if as an actor you would like to take your acting career to the next level

– Coppelia Tingley – Perth

Jason is a must meet individual for anyone considering moving or visiting L.A to pursue an acting career. He is a no nonsense, honest and straight to the point kind of guy which is rare from a city like L.A. Many of my actors and I have had consults with Jason and his advice and guidance has been invaluable.

–     Josh Taylor – agent – Sydney

“Although I was ready to make the move to Los Angeles, I knew I needed help in getting prepared and needed some insider knowledge of the industry that would give me an advantage over the thousands of other actors who would be my competition. Jason was the perfect person for this and helped me tactfully plan my move as well as opening a door to the representation I needed to compete at the highest level. Jason covered every aspect of the industry as well as what to expect of Los Angeles itself, including living expenses, transport, accommodation etc. No matter how stupid or simple my question was, Jason was more than happy to answer it, giving me total confidence that I knew everything I needed to in order to make the move to LA and succeed.”

– Taryn Marler – actress – Brisbane

Jason’s knowledge, wit and practical expertise was brilliant. I feel re-invigorated about my career and it’s possibilities.

– L. Amor – actor – Melbourne

“I’ve heard many opinions about LA from other actors whom it is difficult to attain whether their opinion is tainted by a fowl [sic] overseas experience or just the lucid fantasy of the stardom that awaits. Hearing the reality of LA from Jason Siner was refreshing. His presentation was not weighted with bias towards promoting a dream or beating us with a reality stick, but rather centered on developing ourselves as actors and our marketing tools. Thus giving guidance as to how we advance ourselves here in Australia, and IF the call to LA comes, that we would be prepared. The added bonus of booking a one on one session with Jason afterwards was truly beneficial.”

– M. Oxely – actor – Sydney

. I first met Jason when he cast me in a live show he was directing. He believed in my talent and encouraged me to make the permanent move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television. It was a big leap for me at the time, but thanks to Jason’s assistance and advice I was able to make the transition and avoid some mistakes that actors often make when they take on Hollywood.”

– Rebecca Larsen – actress – Los Angeles

Several years after arriving in Los Angeles, I was still not getting the auditions for the TV and film roles I knew I was ready for.  It’s hard to get a good commercial agent and even harder to get a theatrical agent.  I was having a little success with casting workshops but without a good agent or manager to follow up it’s difficult to stay on a casting director’s radar since there’s more actors out here than ever.  Add to that the fact that casting happens so quickly now with the internet, you need someone who is on top of it.  Jason believed in my potential and set me up with a new Talent Manager who in turn got me signed with an agent.  Within just a few weeks after signing with them I booked a role on Mad Men followed by Lost, Days of Our Lives, and Men of a Certain Age.  Jason helped me get the representation I needed to get the auditions I deserved.”

– Troy Vincent – actor – Los Angeles
